Marissa Stokes earned her BFA in Interior Design from Parsons School of Design, and studied historic preservation in Newport, Rhode Island and London, England as a two-time Victorian Society of America scholarship recipient. Marissa founded Marissa Stokes Interior Design in 2019 where she combines her education with her more than 17 years of professional experience to design homes that reflect homeowners’ lifestyles. “My goal is to create a beautiful environment that is hard to leave,” she says.

Marissa’s work spans far and wide, not only in various locations across US, but also in diverse home styles. She infuses her classic, timeless, and sophisticated approach to interior design into each project. By listening to the owners’ wants and needs as well as her refined research to find the perfect pieces or designing the furnishings herself, she ensures each space in a home is used and loved.

“By incorporating classic forms that can easily mix with antiques and modern pieces, I believe you should surround yourself with pieces you love and enjoy,” Marissa says. Designs across the country include a new custom coastal home in Vero Beach, Florida where she worked with the owners and builder from the ground up, a contemporary Miami apartment in a building designed by Richard Meier with floor-to-ceiling glass walls overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, a rustic Western lodge, and New York residences including an Upper West Side apartment and a home in Central Park Tower, known as the tallest residential tower in the world with spectacular views of the city.

Before starting her own firm, Marissa worked in the design industry at a few of New York City’s top design firms, including David Kleinberg Design Associates, Victoria Hagan Interiors, and Jayne Design Studio where she designed classical and historical residential and commercial commissions across the country. She was named Traditional Home magazine’s New Trad Class of 2022, one of ten Rising Stars of Design in the US. Her work has appeared in national publications, including Architectural Digest, Aspire Design and Home, House Beautiful, Luxe Interiors + Design, and The Wall Street Journal. A recent project will appear in Southern Home in Summer 2023.
